Dear Falcon Families,
As we head into the last week of February we continue to celebrate our students and all the exciting events taking place on and off campus. Last week, four of our athletic teams made it to the CIF playoffs. Our Mock Trial team competed in the last round for the county competition on Saturday, and our Falcon Playhouse opened their spring musical production, Gypsy! To round out our week, our incoming 9th graders for 2025-2026 visited and had a chance to see the campus and experience club culture day.
This coming week brings a flurry of events as the CIF games continue and we move one week closer to spring break. For all athletics information, check out srfalcons.org. On Monday, the English classrooms will host the Butterfly Effect campaign to support Victims of the Pacific Palisades and Altadena Fires. The campaign will raise funds for the victims and collect letters for the first responders. See below for more information about the program and how to donate.
Our SANDI COAST Cafe will prepare Ramadan to Go Meals, and make these available for all students from February 24 through March 28th. Please see below for more details and to complete the request form.
At Scripps Ranch High School, we are committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our students. As part of this commitment, we are partnering with San Diego Youth Services to host a Parent Presentation on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 PM in the SRHS Library. This session will cover the SOS Signs of Suicide® Prevention Program and Bullying Prevention. Please see below for more details and a parent letter for 11th grade students.
We are now two weeks into our second six week progress report. Now is a great time to review your students’ grades and create a study plan if you notice your student needs support. Please encourage your students to reach out to their teachers and take advantage of the many tutoring opportunities on campus. SR6 (Saturday School) is also an option; please see below for details.
To keep on top of events and deadlines, please encourage all students to log into their grade level Google classroom, and to follow ASB on Instagram, for the latest, most up to date information. This is especially important for our Seniors, as spring deadlines and updates are frequently updated and no one wants to miss out on any spring event.
In this message you will find reminders and information about signing up for summer school, Extended Day classes (starting this week), SR6 (Saturday School), Ramadan to Go meals information, the San Diego Youth Services Parent Presentation, Graduation Information website for Class of 2025, Grad Nite Information Website, and much more.
See below for the latest updates as of 2-23-25.

Modified Mondays
As a reminder, every Monday is a modified Monday with school ending at 2:29pm. This week, teachers will attend a full staff professional development meeting afterschool. Teachers will be unavailable during the 2:29 - 3:23pm time window. Next week, teachers will resume their availability on Modified Mondays by (1) offering revision/reassessments for students or (2) will be meeting with their fellow colleagues to collaborate on instructional practices. Those teachers who are offering revision/reassessment opportunities will have communicated with their students. We encourage all students who have scheduled revision/reassessment opportunities to take advantage of this time to hone their learning.
Butterfly Effect Initiative
Beginning Monday, February 24, The Butterfly Effect will be sponsoring a week-long fundraising effort to help the victims affected by the wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and in Altadena. SRHS students will have two opportunities to contribute; writing letters of gratitude to the firefighters and first-responders and/or by donating money, and the English class with the greatest amount of money collected will earn a class trophy.
Everyone is encouraged to contribute, and we will have donation boxes in the main office and in the counseling office. If you want to donate and have your money to go toward a particular English class, you may donate directly there. Checks are accepted and may be written to the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation. Funds will go toward the Los Angeles County Education Wildfire Relief Fund. A special thank you to Mr. Wilson for all his help, and all the students who have helped make this event possible: Oliver Toyen, Harvey Skinner, Kailey Saipe, Hadasa Nzioki, Mona Zamani, Kayla Mcallister, and Quinton Baldis.
San Diego Youth Services - Parent Presentations
At Scripps Ranch High School, we are committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our students. As part of this commitment, we are partnering with San Diego Youth Services to host a Parent Presentation on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 PM in the SRHS Library. This session will cover the SOS Signs of Suicide® Prevention Program and Bullying Prevention.
The teenage years can be an emotional rollercoaster for students, parents, and educators alike. It’s easy to mistake signs of depression for typical adolescent struggles. However, depression—one of the most common mental health conditions—is affecting students at younger ages, and teen suicide rates have doubled over the past decade.
For our 11th grade students, the San Diego Youth Services will be hosting a “Check Your Mood Week.” This program will engage students in discussions about emotions and provide strategies to support their own mental health and that of their peers. A separate communication has been sent to 11th-grade families with more details. 11th grade parents should review this parent letter for more information.
We encourage you to join us at the SRHS library on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 PM for this important parent presentation. Your participation plays a vital role in fostering a supportive community for our students.
SANDI COAST Cafe updates - Ramadan to Go Meals
As part of our commitment to supporting all students, the Sandi Coast Cafe is pleased to offer a newly approved option from the CDE to provide grab-and-go meals for students fasting during Ramadan (February 24–March 28, 2025). This initiative ensures that students have access to nutritious meals in the evening to break their fast. The menus (breakfast & lunch), request form, and guidelines are available on our website. Meals (breakfast & lunch) will be available for pickup at the end of each school day.
Ramadan to Go Meals will be available for all San Diego Unified students from February 24 through March 28, 2025. Interested families must complete the request form: Sandi-Coast-Cafe-Ramadan-Meals-Request-Form.pdf and return it to the SRHS Main Office

Grad Nite Information - Class of 2025 - Reminder

Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder
For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?” If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.

The Scripps Ranch High School Foundation is excited to announce the Wednesday Career Series as it continues on February 26th with a presentation focusing on Careers in Psychology, presented by Dr. Paul Shuman and Dr. Tara Schuman. All presentations will be held in person in the library during lunch, 12:55-1:25 pm. All students are welcome to attend. Visit this LINK for more information on the Wednesday Career/College Series.
