Dear Falcon Families,
Happy Mother’s Day to all the fabulous Falcon moms out there. We hope you are enjoying this first taste of summer with the high temperatures this weekend.
We have reason to celebrate here at Scripps Ranch High School; once again, our AFROTC has represented Scripps Ranch and Falcon Pride well, as they racked up numerous trophies last Saturday at the 2025 Pass in Review at Kearny High. Keeping tradition alive, our cadets came home with the Stilwell Trophy for yet another year! Congratulations to everyone involved in our AFJROTC program!
As we head into the end of the year, we have some exciting events coming up. We begin our last week of AP testing this week, and the music program will host its end of the year concert, “Disney Grammys” (https://www.srhsmusic.com/). Our Falcon Playhouse final production of the year, “One Stoplight Town” (https://www.falconplayhouse.com/) opens this week, and prom will take place at NOVA Nightclub this Saturday. If you have a senior going to prom and you plan on taking prom pictures at a park in Poway, please see below for more information from the city of Poway.
CIF championships are beginning; please go to srfalcons.org for the schedules of remaining games, matches, and meets. Our student-athletes have made us very proud this year and we are hopeful for another terrific CIF season.
We are down to our last two full weeks of school, with finals starting May 23rd. Students should follow up with their teachers regarding their grade, missing work, and tutoring time, and consult their grade level Google classroom for SR6 and other attendance make up information. We are here to help your students finish the year strong.
Yearbooks are here! See the distribution and (limited) purchase information below.
There are some volunteer opportunities for students on May 16th at Jerebek and Dingeman. Encourage your student to check their grade level Google classroom for more information. And for senior families, see below for some updated information. We’ve added updates on how to get additional tickets (every graduating Falcon gets four - but there are opportunities to purchase if you need more), photos at graduation, and last minute gifts for graduation and how to request your final transcript. In addition, there are links to the Graduation 2025 page and the Grad Nite information page. Please remind your seniors to review the list of events and deadlines for seniors by visiting the links below and checking out the ASB Instagram page.
Below you will find reminders about graduation, yearbook distribution, summer school, the SD Bike Coalition Day (May 15th), upcoming SR6 opportunities, and much more.

Mental Health Awareness Month & Family Resources
As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to share with our families and students about the responsible use of social media and its impact on mental well-being. Message from Poway Parks Re: Prom Pictures
We recently received a letter from Audrey Denham, the Director of Community Services for the City of Poway. The director contacted us, asking for help addressing disruptions caused by the large number of students and families using Old Poway Park and Lake Poway for prom and homecoming pictures. The City of Poway greatly appreciates their parks being chosen for special memories, but they point out that there have been several occasions where weddings and other events in reserved spaces have been disturbed.
As you visit these parks for your pictures, please remember to be respectful to all patrons and avoid entering rented spaces. For a smoother experience for everyone, and the opportunity to take advantage of the reserved spaces, the City of Poway suggests making a reservation for your party.
Next Session of SR6
Students can sign up here for our next session held May 17th with Ms. Smith (Social Science and English, Rm 555) and Mrs. Lovato (Math, Rm 703).View all remaining SR6 Dates. SR6 will be hosted by a certificated teacher(s) who will provide instruction and support. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending SR6 at no charge. Must sign-up by Wednesday to guarantee meals. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their truancies (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events.

Register to participate in their free event on Thursday, May 15, and stop by one of their 100 pit stops between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. for a free t-shirt, snacks, and more (one pit stop in Scripps Ranch). 2025-26 LCFF Income Survey
San Diego Unified launched the 2025-26 LCFF data collection on April 28 using PowerSchool Parent Portal and SurveyMonkey. Parents may submit a response via either method, and note that an email from “[email protected] via surveymonkey.com” is legitimate. If you have questions, please contact the main office.
Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder
For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?” If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.
That’s all for today. Have a great rest of your Sunday.
Sincerely,
Matt Lawson, Ed.D
Principal
