SRHS Weekly Updates as of 10-19-25
Posted on 10/19/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather and settling into fall. Last week Scripps Ranch participated in the CA Great Shakeout Drill, where schools across California practiced safety procedures for emergencies. Our students and staff did an awesome job, taking the drill seriously. In our gym last Thursday, SRHS hosted over 90 colleges in the College Showcase; families from across the district came to check out future opportunities. A big thank you to the Scripps Ranch Foundation for making this event possible.

In other news, our Marching Band students are getting ready to compete with their show, “Written in the Stars,” and the Falcon Playhouse will open with “The Little Prince“ this week (10/23). Fall sports teams are nearing the end of their seasons, with upcoming senior nights and CIF championship games. For more information about all our programs (shows, competitions, etc.), visit the following links: Athletics go HERE, Falcon Playhouse go HERE, Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and AFROTC program go HERE

We are now two weeks away from the end of the second progress report grading period (ending on 10/31). If your student is struggling in a certain subject, please follow up with your student’s teacher and encourage your student to take advantage of a teacher’s tutoring times, or SR6 (Saturday School) sessions (see below for more details), especially if they have tardies or absences to recover. Students who pursue these opportunities to improve their grades and self- advocate, set themselves up for growth and success throughout the year.

For students who need to make up a course, our extended day will begin on November 3rd for English and Chemistry. For students who need these credits, be on the lookout for an email informing you of your students’ options.

To take advantage of all SRHS has to offer, please remind your students to look at their Google classroom for their grade level, and the ASB instagram page for events and deadlines. Visit the links below and check out the ASB Instagram page to help them stay on top of everything.

This week’s updates include a flyer about the upcoming Digital Citizenship Week, Yearbook Submission Deadlines for Senior Families, the ongoing Wednesday College Series, and more.

See below for the latest updates as of 10-19-25.

Wesleyan University. All students are welcome at lunch (12:55-1:25), in the library. Use this link to see the schedule of colleges that will be in attendance each week.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder

At Scripps Ranch High, during pick-up and drop-off times has been a problem since our school has “one way in and one way out.” In order to limit traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents/guardians to drop off their students in designated locations on the East Side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street. See this Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up for details. Please do not park along any curbs that are painted red in front of the theatre or at the top of Falcon Way; these are to be kept open in case of emergency. View these Traffic Safety Tips for drivers and students from SDUSD.

That’s all for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D

Principal

Scripps Ranch High School
