Dear Falcon Families,
Last week we finished our annual CAASPP and CAST testing with our juniors. Make up testing, for students who were absent, will begin this week. AP testing will begin May 4th. Our students and teachers continue to work hard, preparing to represent SRHS with some outstanding AP scores again this year. Please remind your students that we have approximately four weeks left in the school year. Encourage them to review their grades and follow up with their teachers if they need tutoring or have questions about their grades.
Spring sports playoffs are beginning soon. Athletic Director, Todd Wilson, will post those playoff schedules ASAP on our athletic website https://srfalcons.org/. Best of luck to all of our Spring athletes as they finish off their respective seasons!
Please save the date (Friday, April 24th!) for our annual Visual Arts Festival. This year the event will take place in and around our theater. Get ready to see some amazing art, photography, films and one act plays. The Art Walk will begin at 6pm and the theater and screening rooms will open at 6:30pm. The theater will host our Improv troupe, select films and one act plays. See below for more information and a link to the festival website.
Senior families: Please don’t forget to check out the graduation information posted on the school website, as well as reviewing the Senior Family message. See below for a link to the message, in case you missed it.

Reminders
Register for School for Next Year - from SDUSD - Reminder
Action needed! Registration for the 2026-2027 school year - deadline May 8th
San Diego Unified recently emailed families with instructions regarding "re-registration" for the 2026-2027 school year. Thank you to those families who have already completed this task.
All families are asked to review and submit updated emergency contact information annually - please complete this as soon as possible. The deadline to submit is May 8th; the district will close the re-registration portal at that time.
- Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account (powerschool.sandi.net) using a web browser (not on mobile app).
Note: You must be logged in with a parent account, not as a student.
- This is NOT in the "Forms" section. Scroll all the way down to the bottom left, to the icon "Student Registration for Next Year."
- Be sure to click the green "Submit" button at the bottom of the very last screen to ensure that your answers are stored/recorded.
If you have issues accessing your account or the re-registration section, please complete this form to request assistance. All returning families must complete the Student Registration for Next Year form by the end of day (11:59 p.m.) on Friday, May 8, 2026. View letter sent directly to parents from SDUSD.
Next SR6 Session is Saturday April 25th - Reminder
Our next session will be held Saturday April 25th, with many AP review or mock exams hosted including AP Gov, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, AP English, AP Calc, and AP Spanish. Mr. Banuelos will also be hosting for Spanish and social science. The flyer is updated with S2 dates and scheduled teachers. SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by the Wednesday prior, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events. View Semester 25-26 SR6 Dates or flyer with all sign up forms.
That’s all for today. Enjoy your weekend.
Sincerely,
Matt Lawson, Ed.D
Principal
