Dear Falcon Families,

The Homecoming game and dance were amazing. It was a lot of fun seeing students cheer, laugh, dance and celebrate with their friends. A big thank you to ASB for all the work they put in to make both nights special. Lets keep that Falcon Pride spirit strong throughout the school year. In today’s update, I’ve included information about our Wednesday College Series, Class of 2023 Website, the FAFSA Application, and some counseling updates. See below for the latest updates as of 9-25-22.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Counseling Updates

Seniors - Urgent Cannot Send Transcripts to Colleges: Currently, many senior student enrollment forms show that their parent/guardian does NOT give permission for the school to send letters of recommendation, transcripts, financial aid forms or class ranking for UC ELC eligibility. This means that we cannot submit items your student requests in the college application process. There is an email being sent to all students whose parents did not give this approval. The email will include a google form that can be completed if a parent would like to change the permission they previously marked as “No” under 32A on the enrollment form. Students should look for an email from Sandy Kish in their student email account.

Senior Presentation and College Application Supports: The Senior Presentation took place in English classes on Friday, September 23rd. The presentation and the Senior Guide with supports for the college application process (which includes transcript request and letter of rec request directions) are all posted on the Senior page on the Counseling Website. On Sept 26th & 27th, students will be given an opportunity to sign up for a one-on-one meeting with their counselor to discuss post-secondary plans. The sign-up sheets will be available outside of counseling. Students will also be able to get assistance with college applications during the College Application Labs from October 12th – November 16th. College Application Labs will be on Mondays (2:38 P.M. - 4:15 P.M.) and Wednesdays (3:35 - 4:15 P.M.) in Room 405.

Cal State Universities College Night Fair in San Diego: All events are free and open to high school students, parents and family members.
