Counseling Updates

Articulation 2023-24: On January 23, 2023 students will start the articulation process to choose their classes for next year. Students will be required to upload their course requests in their PowerSchool Student Portal AND submit an Articulation Card that will include their elective back up choices to their English teacher by Friday, February 3rd at 3:30 P.M.This is a good time for students to speak with teachers about what they'd like to take next year and get their feedback. The course descriptions on the website are in the process of being updated and will be completely updated by January 23rd. Click here for details about the articulation process and important upcoming submission and meeting dates.

Extended Day Math Remediation: Our school will be offering Extended Day Courses for students who need to remediate  a semester of Integrated Math 1, Advanced Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2, Advanced Integrated Math 2, Integrated Math 3, or Advanced Integrated Math 3. This is an option for students who have earned a D or F on their high school transcript, NOT students who earned a D or F progress grade. Grades earned can be confirmed by viewing the student transcript in the PowerSchool Student Portal. The benefit of Extended Day is students can remediate a course by attending 4 hours of class per week, for 5 weeks (total of 20 hours). Classes will be offered twice a week from 4:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. between January 30th - March 3rd.  IM1/AIM1 on Monday/Wednesday, IM2/AIM 2 on Monday/Thursday, IM3/AIM3 Tuesday/Thursday. The first 36 students to sign up for each course will be enrolled. Please forward this link to your student to complete the

Math Extended Day Request Form. They must sign in with their sandi.net student account. We will also send this information directly to student emails.

Summer Opportunities: Please encourage your student to check their student email weekly for the Counselor Updates message sent from our counseling secretary, Sandy Kish. Last Friday, January 6th, we shared some summer opportunities for students.

What I Wish My Parents Knew Event - Reminder

I am excited to announce that Scripps Ranch High, in association with the SRHS Foundation, will host our annual “What I Wish My Parents Knew” event on Monday, February 6th from 5 – 6:30pm in the SRHS Library. The event is a mental health and wellness resource fair as well as a venue for adults to understand the child perspective of pressure and difficulties that children face today. Each year this has been an extremely powerful night, with mental health and wellness organizations around the county sharing resources and important information. The event is highlighted by a student panel featuring our own SRHS students. During the student panel, SRHS students share the tough obstacles they face in today’s society and how that affects them mentally. It is one of the most memorable nights of the year so you don’t want to miss it. Please put this event on your calendar. The event is free and all families are welcomed to attend.
