Dear Falcon Families,

Congrats to our Falcon Corps and Colorguard who is having one of its best seasons. They won their division in a rain impacted show at Valhalla and won back to back tournaments at their home show and again at Great Oak in Temecula. They beat all bands regardless of size and are ranked 2nd in 4A and competed in Division Finals this weekend. We are very proud of all they have accomplished! Congratulations to our Fall sports for a great season. Our winter sports have now started. For updates, follow our SRHS athletics website srfalcons.org (see link in header as well). A reminder that tomorrow, November 14th is a late start modified Monday with school starting at 9:45am. Additionally, reminder that there is no school November 21st - 25th for Thanksgiving break. I hope everyone enjoyed their three day weekend and are ready to have a great week before Thanksgiving break. See below for the latest updates as of 11-13-22.

Counseling Updates

College Application Labs (Last Week): Please remind your senior they can get additional assistance with college applications during the College Application Labs. College Application Labs will be on Mondays (2:38 P.M. - 4:15 P.M.) and Wednesdays (3:35 - 4:15 P.M.) in Room 405 up to Thanksgiving Break. Students who are unable to attend labs for college application assistance can see their counselor at lunch to set up a different time that works.

CSU & UC Deadline November 30th: If your student is planning to apply to any CSU or UC schools this fall, make sure they are working on their applications now. Also, please encourage your students to have their applications reviewed by one of the counselors prior to submitting. It is not uncommon to see errors in how students have input their academic information and corrections can be difficult to make, or not even accepted, once an application has been submitted. *Note: Students should NOT request transcripts for CSU or UC schools at this time. They are not typically used in the initial application process. Students can request the transcript once the college has indicated it is needed.

CAL SOAP College Supports: Seniors can get additional college app and financial aid support provided free through Cal Soap. Click here for a flier with dates.

That’s all for today. Have a great Sunday!

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D
