Posted on 02/21/2022

Dear Falcon Families,

I am excited to share some great news. This week, we learned that we received a 6-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This is the highest accreditation we could have received so we are extremely happy they have seen the great things Scripps Ranch High has to offer. In other news, this week, SDUSD announced that masks are no longer required for staff or students outside. Masks will still be required while indoors. Our Wednesday Career Series is back beginning this Wednesday, February 23rd. A big thank you to the Scripps Ranch High School Foundation for putting this together. Reminder that tomorrow, February 21st there is no school and Monday, February 28th is a minimum day. All of the details are below. Here are the latest updates as of 2-20-22.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Counseling Updates

Articulation

Counselors are now meeting one-on-one with students in their English classes to review their course requests, answer questions and make changes if needed. If your student has not submitted a card yet or has additional forms or applications they still need to submit, they can give them to their counselor during their meeting. Current 9th graders met 2/14 -2/17, current 10th graders are meeting 2/22 - 2/25, current 11th graders 2/28 – 3/4.

Counselor availability during Articulation

We appreciate your understanding that it may take longer to return messages and we will not be able to schedule additional meetings over the next month, due to working outside our offices with all students.

Summer School

The district sent an email to families regarding Extended Learning Opportunities for all. If your student has earned a D or F in any class while in high school and needs to remediate the class, please submit the request form by February 28th. Students can see their final grades on their Transcript in the Student Portal to confirm if any courses need to be remediated. Counselors will select the courses for summer school after the student is registered. Click here to register your student for summer school. Refer to the email for further information.

That’s all for today. Thanks and enjoy your Sunday as well as tomorrow’s holiday.

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D
