Parent Message 3-27-22
Posted on 04/03/2022

Dear Falcon Families,

I want to give a huge shout out to our 5 AFJROTC cadets on the Cyber Patriot Team who took home the National Championship! Congratulations to them for their outstanding accomplishment. In other great news, our own Biology teacher, Josh Rosenberg, was just named District High School Teacher of the Year! We are so proud of Mr. Rosenberg and thankful for all he does for our Falcon community. As a reminder, there will be no school next week for Spring Break. Since I will be on vacation as well, I will not send a weekly message next Sunday, April 3rd unless something urgent comes out that needs to be communicated. My next Sunday update will be sent on Sunday, April 10th. This past Thursday (or Friday if your student was absent on Thursday) COVID home testing kits were distributed. Students are not required to self test before returning to campus on April 4th. The WACAC college fair is coming to Scripps Ranch High on Saturday, April 23rd. There will be over 170 colleges in attendance so we hope you can make it. I hope you and your families have a fun filled Spring Break. Here are the latest updates as of 3-27-22.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Counseling Updates

Extended Day Remediation Courses

Our school will be offering Extended Day Courses for students who need to remediate a semester of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2 and/or Integrated Math 3. This is an option for students who have earned a D or F on their high school transcript, NOT students who are earning a D or F progress grade this semester. Grades earned can be confirmed by viewing the student transcript in the PowerSchool Student Portal. The benefit of Extended Day is students can remediate a course by attending 3 hours of class per week, for just 5 weeks (total of 15 hours). Classes will be offered twice a week (M/W or T/Th) after school from 4:00 P.M.- 5:30 P.M. between April 11th- May 13th. Students could take up to two semesters of classes if they are offered on opposite days. Students who want to be enrolled in the courses should come to the counseling office starting Monday, April 4th, at lunch to sign up. The first 36 students to sign up for each course will be enrolled.

CCAP College Courses Requests for 2022-23

Some students who requested a college course next year have not completed all required items needed to qualify for next year’s CCAP college courses. An email was sent from Justina Estrada to students missing items. Please ask your student to check their student account. If these items are not completed while schedules are being created, students can lose their chance of getting into a college course.

Seniors admitted to a CSU or UC School

If you have been admitted to a CSU or UC, please notify the registrar if the CSU or UC college is requesting your midyear transcript. This will prevent a delay in your transcript being sent. The email notification should be sent at the same time as the electronic Xello Transcript Request [email protected]
