Dear Falcon Families,

Congratulations to our AFJROTC Unit CA-935 for winning the Stilwell trophy for the second year in a row! This means they were the most outstanding JROTC Unit in the San Diego Unified School District. Check out this great picture. Also, congratulations to our Track and Field athletes who had some great finishes at the CIF Western Finals. Some highlights include Addy Richardson, Jaclyn Macatee, Madeline Hanks, and Tiffany Stoughton winning the 4x400 relay (Picture 1Picture 2); Ken Belt, Luke Barajas, Marley Randolph and Rory Long winning the 4x800 relay (Picture 3Picture 4); Addy Richardson breaking the school record in the 1600 meters (Picture 5Picture 6); and Lizzie Tarczy breaking the school record in the high jump (Picture 7Picture 8Picture 9). Great job Falcons!

The LCFF online form is available on the Parent Portal, and NOT on the student’s portal.  If you do not have the Access ID and Password for your student, please contact Jason Lyons at [email protected]. California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS)

CalKIDS was created by the State of California to help more children have an opportunity to save for higher education. The program, administered by the ScholarShare Investment Board, will automatically provide newborns and eligible low-income public school children in California an initial seed deposit, plus other possible financial incentives so that they can start saving money for college. Students who are graduating from high school may be eligible to use this benefit immediately upon enrollment at an institution of higher education. For more information about this program and benefits for students who may qualify please visit:

First Day of School for the 2023-24 School Year

Next year, school will be starting one week earlier, beginning on Monday, August 21st. The change was approved by the SDUSD school board because it will allow for the semester to end one week prior to the December winter break.
