Dear Falcon Families,
I hope students and families had a positive experience with our first ever, online Welcome Week. We look to continue growing and making this online experience a great one for our students. Monday, September 7th is the Labor Day holiday so the first day of official classes is Tuesday, September 8th. Here are the latest updates as of 9-6-20.
Important: Logging into Zoom Sessions for Authenticated Users
For security purposes, all SRHS teachers will be setting their Zoom authentication settings so that students can only sign in using their district Sandi account to participate in a live session. To ensure students are correctly doing this, please click this Link for a step-by-step tutorial and click this Link for a video tutorial. All students should read/watch these tutorials in preparation for the first day of class.
Chromebook Tech Support
For technical support, call the Online Learning Technical Support Line at (619) 732-1400.
Hours of operation are 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday.
Saturday Hours: 9 am - 1 pm September 1 - October 31
Note: Many issues with Chromebooks can be resolved by restarting the device. If the support line cannot help, families will be directed to a support center.
Technology Support for Parents
This Link will take you to the IT Support Site which is updated with multiple videos/supports in multiple languages.
SDUSD Facts for Parents Flyer
This flyer normally gets distributed at school for students to take home but this year it will be online. Here is the Link to the online version of the Facts for Parents flyer.
Students Check PowerSchool Student Portal on Monday
As is normal this time of year, there is still some very minor balancing happening with classes. Students should check their student portal on Monday just to confirm their teachers and ensure they have the appropriate Zoom Meeting ID’s for Tuesday.
Welcome Video
With help from ASB, we filmed a video to welcome students to the 2020-21 school year. This video was shown to students on Friday during first period, but if any students missed it, they can watch it using this Link.
Student Virtual Q and A Session
On Wednesday, September 9th at 1:45pm I am going to host a live Q and A session for students. If students want to sign up for the session, they can check their teachers’ Learning Management System for a link to sign up.
2020-21 Yearbook Update
Stay in the loop all school year regarding the SRHS 2020-2021 Yearbook deadlines, photo submission requests, senior announcements, and pricing. Follow us on social media and join our school wide Remind Account! All info here https://qrco.de/bbgkYE
Fall Open House
In a traditional year, our Fall Open House would be scheduled for Thursday, September 17th. Given that classes have been moved back a week and we are exploring virtual options for our Fall Open House, we have moved back this date to tentatively Thursday, September 24th. I will send out additional details once they are ready.
Kickoff Makeup Days
For students who still need to pick up materials, there will be makeup Kickoff days Tuesday, September 8th and Thursday, September 10th from 1pm – 4pm. Please click this Link to see the protocol for these days.
