SRHS Update 9-13-2020
Posted on 09/13/2020

Dear Falcon Families,

A big thank you to you and your students for your work and support during our first week of online classes. It was great to talk with students live and see their positives attitudes as we learn and grow together. As a reminder, you can call the technical support line at (619) 732-1400 for technology related issues. In this update I’ll provide information about nominations for school committees, Class of 2021 counseling updates, Fall Open House, and more. Here are the latest updates as of 9-13-20.

Repost from last week: Logging into Zoom Sessions for Authenticated Users

For security purposes, all SRHS teachers will be setting their Zoom authentication settings so that students can only sign in using their district Sandi account to participate in a live session. To ensure students are correctly doing this, please click this Link for a step-by-step tutorial and click this Link for a video tutorial. All students should read/watch these tutorials in preparation for the first day of class.

SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers

School Site Council (SSC) meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm while Site Governance Team (SGT) Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm. This year, we have one parent vacancy for SSC and three parent vacancies for SGT.  Please complete this Google Form: SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers if you are interesting in being a part of one or both of these committees. Also included in the Google Form are options to indicate if you are interested in participating in other, non-election groups/events such as the English Learner Advisory Council and No Place for Hate sponsored activities. I will take the names submitted for SSC and SGT and create an electronic ballot to be sent out next week for both SSC and SGT elections.

SDUSD Parent Learning Menus

The Link: Parent Learning Menu is constantly being updated with content and translations (Spanish, Tagalog, Somali, Swahili, and Vietnamese). Families can learn about technology, social emotional support, health/safety and family resources by clicking on the different options within the learning menu.
