SRHS Weekly Updates as of 10-5-25
Posted on 10/05/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

We hope everyone had a great weekend! Hopefully our football players and cheerleaders are rested and ready for the upcoming Homecoming week. Our ASB students have a fun week planned, full of Homecoming festivities, the football game, and then the Homecoming dance. Please remind your students to check their grade level Google Classroom for more information on events, times, and tickets.

Last week was a great week for our field hockey team as they won 5-2 on Tuesday against La Jolla Country Day and 4-0 on Wednesday against Cathedral Catholic! Congratulations to our freshmen girls volleyball team who beat Coronado last Wednesday! And our flag football team crushed Academy of Our Lady Peace 47-27, way to go girls! To find out more about our athletes (schedules and rosters) go HERE. Come out and join us as we cheer for our Falcon athletes!

On Thursday, October 9th, we will host our annual “What I Wish My Parents Knew” event. This is an incredible opportunity for our students to share their feelings about trying to balance family life, school, and friends. This is a powerful event. Please see below for information. On October 28th, we will host San Diego Miramar College for a CCAP Family Night. The event will be in the library at 5:30pm. Representatives from the college and SRHS counselors will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about community college enrollment for your student. See below for a flyer and sign up information.

We are two weeks into the second progress report grading period. Please take a moment to review your students’ grades. If your student needs help, a letter went home last week about the teachers’ tutoring hours. Please ask your student to review the letter/email and find time to speak with their teachers to seek additional support.

Senior families, the yearbook deadline for submitting baby pictures is approaching. See below for more details. Remind your seniors to check the ASB instagram and their Google classroom for updates on events and deadlines for seniors.

This week’s updates include information about our upcoming “What I Wish My Parents Knew” event, the CCAP event, our ongoing College series, the upcoming College Showcase, Homecoming reminders, SR6, the reopening of our preschool, and more.

See below for the latest updates as of 10-5-25.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder

At Scripps Ranch High, during pick-up and drop-off times has been a problem since our school has “one way in and one way out.” In order to limit traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents/guardians to drop off their students in designated locations on the East Side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street. See this Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up for details. Please do not park along any curbs that are painted red in front of the theatre or at the top of Falcon Way; these are to be kept open in case of emergency. View these Traffic Safety Tips for drivers and students from SDUSD.

Attendance Procedure Updates - Reminder

To streamline our attendance process, all student absences should be reported using the new Early Release Request form and Absence/Late Arrival Notification form. Submissions will only be received when sent using the parent/guardian email address on file in PowerSchool. Please do not leave voicemails for your students’ absences. Absences reported via the Google Form allow for blue slips to be completed promptly. All information regarding attendance can be found on the attendance website and pages 12-16 in the student handbook.

We are excited to announce the re-opening of our Preschool!
The preschool will operate Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, please contact us at 858-302-3400 ext. 2505. Additional information on the Preschool click - Now enrolling Little Falcons
