Dear Falcon Families, 

February is here! There is a lot to celebrate as we end January and begin February, as well as a lot of upcoming activities and events to keep our Falcons and the Falcon Community busy this winter. A big congratulations to SRHS wrestler Elisha Hosseini for being named the Union-Tribune’s Athlete of the Week! Way to go representing the Falcons! 

Last night we hosted the Mr. Scripps Ranch Pageant, where talented students competed for the title of “Mr. Scripps Ranch.” Our Falcon Playhouse production of Mamma Mia! opens soon, so follow the link below to get your tickets now! In athletics, CIFs are on their way, and many teams have celebrated their Senior nights. Tryouts for spring sports are upon us; please see below for more information and a schedule for spring sports. Parents of seniors, please remind your seniors to check their Xello account for important college information and updates on scholarship opportunities. New updates are posted weekly. On campus college courses start this week, so please remind your students to contact the professors as soon as possible if they have questions or concerns. 

Our Wednesday Career Series (presented by the SRHS Foundation) continues this week. Please see below for more information. Remember to save the date for the WACAC  College Fair event coming and for the “Sips for Scripps” event. Details on both events below.

Reminder of Modified Monday

As a reminder, every Monday is a Modified Monday, with school dismissal at 2:29pm. This Monday, 2/2, teachers will attend an all staff Professional Development meeting from 2:35 to 3:40. If  students need to see their teachers, they should follow up and coordinate directly with them.

 

Extended Day February/March Session (Science & Social Science)

Parent and student emails have been sent this past Friday, 1/30/26 about the registration being open for the Extended Day Program, running from February 23rd through March 27th. This session is to remediate any D or F semester grades in either Science or Social Science courses. Classes will use a combination of in-person and asynchronous instruction.To guarantee enrollment, students must submit the View Courses & Complete the Registration Form  while signed into their Sandi.net student account. Please complete by February 18, 2026.

Planning an absence, late arrival, or early dismissal? Follow these steps - Reminder
Step 1: Select SRHS Early Release Request  |  SRHS Absence/Late Arrival Notification
Step 2: You must use your email address that’s in PowerSchool  (others will be blocked).
Step 3: 24-hour notice is highly recommended.
Only forms submitted by authorized parents/guardians will be processed.

Counseling Updates

Spring 2026 Miramar CCAP College Courses start this week. Students can reference their PowerSchool account to confirm their course. 

 

Summer School 2026 Academic Programs:  Click here for district information on summer school dates, times, and locations. At this time, the website lists credit recovery options only. Scripps Ranch High School will be one of the in-person summer school sites. Please note that no online credit recovery options will be available this summer in the district. 

Students who would like to remediate a D or F earned in a graduation-required course should submit the summer school form  to their counselor by March 25.

 

Summer Teach Lead Program

The Extended Learning Opportunities Department is excited to share information about the 2026 Summer Paid Leadership Internship Program in partnership with CCTE, Teach Lead, FranklinCovey Education, and Leader in Me.This 5-week, paid summer internship is open to currently enrolled SDUSD high school students who are 16 years old or older and interested in leadership, education, and career exploration. The program provides hands-on experience working with elementary students, professional development, and leadership training.Students can apply directly using the application link or scanning the QR code on the flyer. Selected applicants may be invited to interview, with final decisions announced by March 27, 2026.

SRHS Foundation’s Sips for Scripps Fundraiser - Reminder

From the SRHS Foundation: Join fellow parents and residents of the Scripps community for our “Sips for Scripps” fundraiser. You’ll enjoy an evening of music, food, drinks, and silent auction. Wednesday Career Series

The SRHS Foundation’s Wednesday Career Series continues this week. On Wednesday, February 4th, the series will feature a presentation on Careers in Law, presented by Chris Lindberg, Deputy District Attorney, Cold Case Homicide. These weekly events are held in the SRHS library from 12:55-1:25pm and are open to all students. Please note that on April 22nd, as part of the series, 30 colleges will be presenting during lunch in the library.  Here is the link to the Wednesday Career Series: LINK

 

Save the date! Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) College Fair coming to SRHS! - Reminder

Save the date for Saturday, April 18th from 1-3pm in the SRHS Gym where SRHS Foundation and Explore Solutions will be hosting the WACAC Fair featuring 100 colleges. Here is the list of Universities and Colleges registered to attend: LINK 

 

SR6 Semester Two - Reminder

Our next session will be held Saturday February 7th, hosted by Ms. Francisco (English, Rm 900). The flyer is updated with S2 dates and scheduled teachers. SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by the Wednesday prior, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events. View Semester 25-26 SR6 Dates or flyer with all sign up forms
