Dear Falcon Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend. Thursday was the end of the first six week grading period for semester two, and teachers will be finalizing grades by Tuesday morning. If you notice that your student (or students) may be struggling in any subject, please encourage them to connect with their teachers and take advantage of the many academic resources available on campus. There’s plenty of support to help them stay on track.
The end of the first six weeks brings us to two thirds of the way through the school year, and the end of the official season for winter sports. Spring sport tryouts have already begun and the season will be underway before we know it. This week the Falcon Playhouse will open its spring production, Mamma Mia! See below for ticket information.
Follow the links here for information about all our amazing programs at Scripps Ranch: Falcon Athletics go HERE, Falcon Playhouse go HERE, Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and AFROTC program go HERE.
The spring season will bring a lot of fun, with a ton of engaging, spirit filled events for our Falcons. Please be sure to remind your students to check their grade level Google classroom, and the ASB instagram to be aware of events coming up this spring; they won’t want to miss anything!
Next week, on Friday February 27th, we will host the 8th graders from Marshall Middle and other middle schools for our annual Falcon Day. This is a 4-hour event, where our student leaders connect with incoming 8th graders, showing them around campus and giving them a taste of what Scripps Ranch High School has to offer them next year. We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2030 to campus!
Parents of seniors, please remind your seniors to check their Xello account for important college information and updates on scholarship opportunities. New updates are posted weekly. On campus college courses started last week; remind your students to contact the professors as soon as possible if they have questions or concerns.
Remember that there is no school on Monday, Feb 16th, due to the Presidents Day holiday. In this message you’ll find reminders and details about the updated graduation website, Extended Day opportunities for students needing Science and Social Studies credit (February/March session), info on summer school programs, spring sports tryouts, “Sips for Scripps,” the Wednesday Career Series, the upcoming WACAC College Fair, upcoming SR6s (Saturday School), and reminders on how to report a planned absence, late arrival, or an early dismissal.

Our next session will be held Saturday February 21st, hosted by Ms. Jenkins (Social Science and English, Rm B21). The flyer is updated with S2 dates and scheduled teachers. SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by the Wednesday prior, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student.
