SRHS Weekly Updates as of 2-9-25
Posted on 02/09/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

We hope this message finds everyone doing well and enjoying the first two weeks of February. Our Falcon student athletes had a busy weekend, beginning with a basketball double-header at University City Friday night. Saturday night, our Falcons danced the night away at the Winter Formal, in the Nautilus Pavilion at SeaWorld. More fun events are on the way, as we work our way through the semester.

This coming week marks the final week of the first progress report grading period for semester two. The grading period will end on Thursday, 2/13/2025. With the end of the six week grading period, students should communicate with their teachers regarding missing and make-up work, as well as tutoring times. If your student is struggling in any course, please encourage them to take time and follow up with their teachers. We encourage all students to self-advocate and use resources like SR6 Saturday School, after school study rooms, teacher tutoring sessions, and more to get caught up on missing assignments or improve their grades.

On February 21st, we will welcome 475 8th graders from Marshall and other middle schools for our annual Falcon Day. This is a 4-hour event, where our student leaders connect with incoming 8th graders, showing them around campus and giving them a taste of what Scripps Ranch High School has to offer them next year. We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2029 to campus!

This is a friendly reminder that February 13th is the final day to order and reserve a copy of the SRHS 2025 Yearbook. Yearbooks can be purchased online through Jostens or in person at the Finance Office with cash or check. Please act now to secure a copy—only a limited number of yearbooks will be available for sale in late May, and once they’re gone, they’re gone! Don’t miss out on this special keepsake for your student. Order today! Follow this LINK to SRHS Jostens.

Remember that there is no school on Friday, Feb 14th, and Monday, Feb 17th due to the Presidents Day holidays. In this message you’ll find reminders and details about the graduation website and grad nite information, the Wednesday College/Career series, Extended Day Classes, SR6, Summer School, How to Report a Bully, Attendance Letters, and more. Please read on for details.

Thank you for all you do to make Scripps Ranch High School and the Scripps Community wonderful.

No School Reminder

As a reminder, there is no school Friday February 14th and Monday, February 17th, due to the Presidents Day Holiday.

Modified Mondays

As a reminder, every Monday is a modified Monday with school ending at 2:29pm. This week, teachers will attend a full staff professional development meeting afterschool. Teachers will be unavailable during the 2:29 - 3:23pm time window. Next week, teachers will resume their availability on Modified Mondays by (1) offering revision/reassessments for students or (2) will be meeting with their fellow colleagues to collaborate on instructional practices. Those teachers who are offering revision/reassessment opportunities will have communicated with their students. We encourage all students who have scheduled revision/reassessment opportunities to take advantage of this time to hone their learning.

Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder

For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?”  If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.

The Wednesday Career Series and future college presentations

The Scripps Ranch High School Foundation is excited to announce the Wednesday Career Series as it continues on February 12th with a presentation on Careers in Nursing, presented by SDSU Students Nurses Association. Core Menus: Middle/High School Breakfast, Middle/High School Lunch. Lunch Tray Treat: ALL students will be able to enjoy strawberry milk during lunchtime every day for the month of February.  We get our milk from Hollandia Dairy, a family-owned farm in Escondido. Our strawberry milk is fat free, contains no artificial colors or flavors; and it gets its pink color naturally from beet juice.

That’s all for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
