SRHS Weekly Updates as of 3-2-25
Posted on 03/02/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

We hope you’ve enjoyed the beautiful weather the last few days. Just like that, February is over and March is here! We finished February with a show of force as the Boys Soccer team competed in the semifinals in Calexico, and our Girls Basketball team fought their hardest against Mater Dei in the quarter finals. Our Falcon Players closed their successful production of Gypsy as well and will begin work on their final production, One Stoplight Town, in the coming weeks.

This coming week, our 11th grade students will participate in a Suicide Prevention Education program, and the ASB will host a Blood Drive. Please remember there is no school on Friday, March 7th, due to district scheduling.

While Monday March 3rd is still a modified Monday, our teachers have a professional development staff meeting, so they will not be available after school on Monday. The SANDI COAST Cafe will continue to offer Ramadan to Go Meals from now through March 28th; see below for information on how to order.

With just three weeks until the end of the second six week progress reports, now is a great time for students to pause and reflect on where they might need help in a course. Students can take advantage of peer tutoring, SR6 (Saturday School), individual teacher tutoring, or after school tutoring rooms. Please encourage your students to check their grades and follow up with their teachers so they can continue to do their best throughout the semester.

As always, students should continue to check their grade level Google classroom for updates on events and deadlines. Springtime brings lots of fun moments for our Falcons - remind your students to check in and be aware of everything the Falcon community has to offer!

In this week’s update, you’ll find updates and reminders about the Summer School,  Summer School info, Grad Nite and Graduation Information, Kick Off Date Reminders, and more.

Next week, on March 10th, teachers will resume their availability on Modified Mondays by (1) offering revision/reassessments for students or (2) will be meeting with their fellow colleagues to collaborate on instructional practices. Those teachers who are offering revision/reassessment opportunities will have communicated with their students. We encourage all students who have scheduled revision/reassessment opportunities to take advantage of this time to hone their learning.

Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder

For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?”  If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.
