Dear Falcon Families,
This week marks week 10 of semester two and we kick it off with a three day weekend. We hope the students remember to set their clocks ahead (daylight savings time!) and take advantage of the extra day this weekend.
Spring sports are underway, as are rehearsals for our final Falcon Playhouse production. For all the latest updates on our Falcon athletics, including game times, scores, rosters, and other information, and all our other amazing programs at Scripps Ranch, follow the links: Falcon Athletics go HERE, Falcon Playhouse go HERE, Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and AFROTC program go HERE.
As the end of the 2nd six weeks progress report deadline approaches, now is a great time to sit down and do a quick grade review with your student. If you find your student is struggling, please encourage them to reach out to their teacher to schedule a time to talk about additional support. Students can take advantage of peer tutoring, SR6 (Saturday School), individual teacher tutoring, or after school tutoring rooms. Please encourage your students to follow up with their teachers so they can continue to do their best throughout the semester.
To be on top of all school events, students should continue to check their grade level Google classroom for updates on events and deadlines. Springtime brings many activities students will want to be a part of. Please remind your students to check in and find all the great events the Falcon community has to offer!
Senior families, don’t forget to review the Graduation information and Grad Nite website. In addition, below you'll find information about “Super Saturday” for seniors at Miramar, where students and families can learn about how community college can support students (details below).
In this week’s update, you’ll find updates and reminders about the SR6 (Saturday School), Summer School, the upcoming College Fair, Grad Nite and Graduation Information, Attendance Protocol Reminders, details on the upcoming state testing, and more.

March 9th No School
Monday, March 9th is a non-instructional day. There is no school on this day; school resumes on Tuesday, March 10th.
Lockdown Drill
One day this week our school will be conducting a Lockdown Drill as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe campus. The drill will be supervised by our District School Police Department. This practice drill gives our teachers and staff the opportunity to review and practice the safety procedures we have learned for this type of situation. Conducting drills like this helps ensure that everyone on campus is prepared and knows how to respond appropriately in the unlikely event of an emergency. At the start of the lockdown drill, an email will be sent to all families notifying them the drill is taking place.
Wednesday Career Series
The SRHS Foundation continues the Wednesday Career Series this week (Wednesday, March 11th), featuring a presentation from Sumit Wadhwa, presenting “Careers in the Age of AI and why your Career will not be Linear.” These weekly events are held in the SRHS library from 12:55-1:25pm and are open to all students. Please note that on April 22nd, as part of the series, 30 colleges will be presenting during lunch in the library. Here is the link to the Wednesday Career Series (at Scripps Ranch High School Foundation’s College Corner): LINK

CAASPP Information
The CAASPP parent notification letter was sent out by the district in the family newsletter this past Saturday, February 28th. If you have a student in 11th grade please take time to read and review with your student. SRHS will administer to all 11th grade students during the block schedule days, April 14th through April 17th. As the letter states, these statewide assessments in English, Math, and Science are valuable data for both individual students and provide schoolwide results as well.
Early Dismissal - Attendance Reporting Protocol
We want to make sure your student is ready for pickup without delay. To allow our staff enough time to process requests, please submit the Google Form at least 24 to 48 hours before their early dismissal. Submissions made within minutes of departure may result in delays at the attendance office. Please see our A Quick Guide for Families for a printable flyer to keep at home.
Reminder: Students leaving early must sign out at the attendance office and collect their blue slip before departing.
