Dear Falcon Families,
We hope everyone had a restful spring break and smooth transition back to school last week. Grades were posted for the second progress report period last Monday. Now is a great time to review your students’ grades and create a study plan if you notice your student needs support in order to end the semester strong. Please encourage your students to reach out to their teachers and take advantage of the many tutoring opportunities on campus. SR6 (Saturday School) is also an option; please see below for details.
This week begins our annual testing season with the CAST and CAASPP testing starting Tuesday. AP testing begins on May 5th. Our AP students and teachers are working hard on test preparations and are looking forward to some great scores. Please remind your students that we have a unique testing schedule this week with our regular modified Monday, and block days Tuesday - Friday. During the Tuesday - Friday block days, school will end at the standard time, 3:23 pm.
There are a lot of incredible events coming up in the next few weeks. The next FALCONnections meeting on April 16th, the Sips for Scripps fundraiser will take place on April 19th, our annual Falcons Visual Arts Festival on April 25th, and the WACAC College Fair on April 26th. See below for more details about each event.
Spring sports playoffs begin soon, and Athletic Director Wilson will post those playoff schedules on our athletic website https://srfalcons.org/. Best of luck to all of our Spring student-athletes as they finish off their respective seasons.
To keep on top of events and deadlines, please encourage all students to log into their grade level Google classroom, and to follow ASB on Instagram, for the latest, most up to date information. This is especially important for our Seniors, as spring deadlines and updates are frequently updated and no one wants to miss out on any spring event.
In today’s update, I’ve provided information on CAASPP testing, the Sips for Scripps Fundraiser (check out this video invitation click HERE), the WACAC College Fair, the upcoming FALCONnections event, the Falcon Visual Arts Festival, graduation information, and more.
Finally, a huge shout out to our ASB leaders and all the students and families who participated in the Every 15 Minutes program — especially those who took part in the video, crash simulation, and assembly. It was an emotional two days, and I’m hopeful the experience left a lasting impression that will help students make responsible choices and stay safe. Thank you to everyone who helped make this powerful event possible.
See below for the latest updates as of 4-13-25.

Graduation Information – Class of 2025 - Reminder
Senior families, the graduation website is now open. Please check the school website at https://scrippsranch.sandiegounified.org/ and select the Graduation 2025 tab for details.
Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder
For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?” If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.
That’s all for today. Have a great rest of your Sunday.
Sincerely,
Matt Lawson, Ed.D
Principal
