Dear Falcon Families,
The countdown to the end of the year begins this week as April ends and May begins. This week we enter the last four full weeks of school, and with the end of the semester quickly approaching, students should be sure to check their Google Classrooms for all the upcoming events! To be sure your students finish the year strong, academically, please encourage them to talk to their teachers and take advantage of tutoring hours, SR6 opportunities, and other resources available on campus.
Student Elections were held last week, and students will find out on Tuesday who our on-campus leaders will be next year. The Visual Arts Showcase and Festival was on Friday, and we had a great time celebrating all the student artwork, photography, film, Improv work, and plays! Congratulations to all of these incredibly talented Falcons!
On Monday, our school band will perform the National Anthem at Petco Park for the Padres. In spring sports this week, Tuesday (4/28) is senior night for the boys’ lacrosse team, Wednesday (4/29) is senior night for track and field, and Thursday (4/30) is senior night for girls’ lacrosse and boys’ volleyball teams. Congratulations to the Boys Tennis team for winning the league and moving to the CIF playoffs starting on Tuesday. This week our Dance Program will present their spring show, with showtimes at 7pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Come out and see this amazing group!

Reminders
Register for School for Next Year - from SDUSD - Reminder
Action needed! Registration for the 2026-2027 school year - deadline May 8th
San Diego Unified recently emailed families with instructions regarding "re-registration" for the 2026-2027 school year. Thank you to those families who have already completed this task.
All families are asked to review and submit updated emergency contact information annually - please complete this as soon as possible. The deadline to submit is May 8th; the district will close the re-registration portal at that time.
- Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account (powerschool.sandi.net) using a web browser (not on mobile app).
Note: You must be logged in with a parent account, not as a student.
- This is NOT in the "Forms" section. Scroll all the way down to the bottom left, to the icon "Student Registration for Next Year."
- Be sure to click the green "Submit" button at the bottom of the very last screen to ensure that your answers are stored/recorded.
If you have issues accessing your account or the re-registration section, please complete this form to request assistance. All returning families must complete the Student Registration for Next Year form by the end of day (11:59 p.m.) on Friday, May 8, 2026. View letter sent directly to parents from SDUSD.
Eligibility for Prom, Commencement, and Senior Events
Seniors with any AZW codes or more than three T codes per semester from 8/25/25 onward are ineligible for Prom, Commencement, and Senior Events. See all criteria. An eligibility letter went home to students and parents last week Monday. Please continue to check in with your student on these requirements. Attendance is one of the criteria for eligibility.
Next SR6 Session is Saturday May 2nd - Reminder
There are two SR6 sessions remaining prior to prom (5/2 and 5/9). Our next session will be held Saturday May 2nd, hosted by Mr. Laverty (English, Rm 953). Mr Comella will host an AP Physics 1 review session, Mr. Rasmuson will host an APUSH review session, and Ms. Jenkins will host an AP Gov review session.
SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by the Wednesday prior, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events. View Semester 25-26 SR6 Dates or flyer with all sign up forms.
That’s all for today. Enjoy your weekend.
Sincerely,
Matt Lawson, Ed.D
Principal
