SRHS Weekly Updates as of 5-18-25
Posted on 05/18/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

This week brings our last full week of classes, and the beginning of final exams for your students. Seniors will finish their exams on Thursday and grades 9-11 will begin their exams on Friday. As we wind down, we celebrate the incredible talent of our Falcons. Last week, the Falcon Playhouse closed their successful black box production of “One Stoplight Town” with rave reviews, and the music program performed their end of the year concert, “Happiest Soundtrack on Earth,” for a delighted audience. AP testing concluded on Friday (with the exception of late testers and make up testers), and our Seniors danced the night away at prom this past Saturday.

This coming week, the dance program will present their final show, and we’ll celebrate the end of the year with our Goodbye Rally on Tuesday, May 20th. There are a lot of senior activities still to come, so senior families, please be sure to check the website and information below for “Senior Events” your seniors need to attend.

Senior grades are due on Thursday, May 22nd, a day early this year, giving us an opportunity to to celebrate our seniors on Friday, May 23rd. This year we’ll hold a senior breakfast and picnic 9:30am to 12 (in the stadium). There will be a ton of games (Spikeball, and Cornhole), music, and fun for your seniors to end the year with their peers. Seniors will not attend regular class on Friday; in lieu of class, they will attend the senior breakfast and picnic. For more information, go to the graduation website (HERE) for more information.

For all students, in this final full week, it’s more important than ever for students to check their grades and follow up with their teachers regarding missing work, and make-up work, ensuring they finish the school year strong.

In our updates this week, we have detailed information about Kickoff Dates for the 2025-2026 school year, graduation details, a Sports Physical Event for High School Student Athletes and for our 8th Grade Future Student Athletes, information about summer school, and more.

2025-26 LCFF Income Survey

San Diego Unified launched the 2025-26 LCFF data collection on April 28 using PowerSchool Parent Portal and SurveyMonkey. Parents may submit a response via either method, and note that an email from “[email protected] via surveymonkey.com” is legitimate. If you have questions, please contact the main office.

Bullying/Report a Concern Link - Reminder

For instances of bullying or to report a concern, please use this Bullying Report Link; the link is also posted at the very bottom of our school website. You will then select “Report Bullying.” The very first question asks “Is your concern about the conduct of an employee?”  If the answer is yes, it will direct you to a different form. Prior to filing a report, we ask that you review the district’s best practices for resolving concerns, which starts at addressing the concern directly at the site level. Once reports are submitted they are received by the district’s Office of Investigations, Compliance & Accountability (ICA). A member of their team will reach out to you to confirm receipt and ask any pertinent questions. Ultimately the report will be directed to the site-level authority for resolution.

That’s all for today. Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D
