Dear Falcon Families,
We hope you are enjoying the long weekend as we head into the last few days of school. We’ll finish the year, proud once again, of all our Falcons have learned and achieved. Last week we celebrated our seniors with the Goodbye Rally, and the seniors participated in a Goodbye Breakfast and Picnic Day. This coming week, our seniors look forward to graduation rehearsal and picking up their caps and gowns, all in preparation for graduation on Thursday.
Teachers have already submitted their final grades for seniors, and they will submit final grades for grades 9-11 Friday morning. The Scripps Ranch Schools Committee is requesting some help to plan their agendas for 2026-2027. The Scripps Ranch Schools Committee (SRSC) serves as the voice for and represents the interests of the 6 public non-charter schools in the Scripps Ranch Cluster. They bring together residents, families, teachers, and school personnel to raise awareness, research and discuss issues, and make recommendations to SDUSD, the Board of Education, and the City of San Diego.
Their meetings are open to all community members. They meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 PM throughout the school year, with the first meeting of the 2026-27 school year being on August 19, 2026.
To help set the agendas for the SRSC in 2026-27, members of the SRSC are asking you to please complete this 3-5 minute survey below on topics you’d be interested in hearing about. There will not be time to cover everything on the list, so they will use the community's stated priorities in setting the agendas for the year. JUNIOR families: On May 18th, juniors took part in a presentation from our counselors about what to do over summer, to get ready for college applications in the fall. Please see details below regarding this presentation.

In this final full week, it’s more important than ever for students to check their grades and follow up with their teachers regarding missing work, and make-up work, ensuring they finish the school year strong. In our updates this week, we have detailed information about graduation, the Sports Physical Event for High School Student Athletes and for our 8th Grade Future Student Athletes, information about summer school (which begins June 4th), and more.

Health Information Exchange Consent Form The Health Information Exchange Consent Form is now available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This form allows families to securely submit and update student health information online, making it easier to share important health details with school staff when needed. Families can begin completing the form through the Parent Portal now for the upcoming school year. School site nurses and health technicians will have access to run reports

Last Day of School Pick-Up Location Impacted
Please be advised that on Thursday, May 28, student pick-up on Falcon Way will be significantly impacted by our regular-day finals schedule (3:23 PM dismissal) and Senior Commencement. Parking in the bus stop drop-off lane will be prohibited, with 'No Parking' signs enforced. Entry on campus will be for buses and students or parents with handicap placards; parking lots will be closed until 3:45pm when campus opens for graduation.
Parents arriving at school for graduation will be asked to show their graduation tickets to security upon entry to the parking lot. To facilitate a smooth dismissal and prevent congestion, we ask all families to pick up their students at one of the following designated locations:
- North of the 3-way stop on Treena Street.
SUN Bucks The SUN Bucks application is now available for families to complete in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. SUN Bucks provides eligible families with grocery benefits to help cover the cost of meals during the summer months. Please complete the form and view this step-by-step video for support. Counseling Updates
JUNIORS: On Monday, May 18th, counselors presented to all junior students during their U.S. History classes. The presentation focused on important action items students can complete over the summer to help determine their post-secondary plans (college, apprenticeships, trade school, military, etc.) and get a head start on application requirements that are needed for students planning to apply to 4 year colleges. Taking these steps now can help students feel more prepared, organized, and confident as they enter senior year.
Information For All Senior Families
Important Traffic & Graduation Update: Thursday, May 28
Please be advised that student pick-up on Falcon Way will be significantly impacted by our regular-day finals schedule. Please review the important logistics below:
- Pick-Up Timing: The dismissal bell rings at 3:23 PM. Please do not arrive earlier than 3:45 PM to allow student drivers and initial traffic to clear the campus.
- Parking Restrictions: Parking in the bus drop-off lane is strictly prohibited, and "No Parking" zones will be enforced.
- Graduation Arrival: Campus parking is limited, and we highly recommend carpooling. Security will be checking graduation tickets at the parking lot entrance.

Important Information Regarding Regalia (Stoles, Cords, etc.):
Only School-approved tassels, sashes, stoles, cords, pins, and religious or cultural adornments may be worn with the graduation gown.
Please note that seniors are prohibited from wearing flower, orchid, money, or kukui nut leis during the ceremony.
Additionally, no homemade sashes or cords will be allowed. Any unapproved items will be collected before the ceremony, placed in a bag, and held for students to pick up afterward.
Eligibility for Commencement and Senior Events
Attendance and unpaid debt are two of the criteria for commencement and senior events. Seniors with any school debt, any AZW codes, or more than three T codes per semester from 8/25/25 onward are ineligible for Commencement and Senior Events. See all criteria. Sports Physical Event - Reminder
UCSD is hosting an Inaugural Physical Day at Canyon Hills High School on Saturday 6-13-26 from 8am-12pm. The optional screening fee is $10 (cash only). See additional details in the flyer. If your student plans to play a fall sport, consider attending.
