Dear Falcon Families,
September is almost here as we begin our fourth week of school. Friday was our first home football game, and our Falcons came out excited and ready to cheer for our team. Across campus you can find our students talking about upcoming spirit days, events for Seniors, and more, as students get settled into the routine of being back in class, preparing for another stellar year.
Fall athletics are in full swing, and our student athletes continue to impress, while our students in the arts continue to rehearse and prepare for upcoming competitions and productions. Our AFJROTC cadets, along with all our many clubs and academic teams on campus, continue preparing to welcome existing and new members for another fun filled year. This past week we held our 2026-2027 “Back to School Night.” We welcomed 560 families to Scripps Ranch to meet teachers, learn more about individual classes, and explore campus. If you were not able to attend, and you need more information about your student’s class, please reach out to their teachers directly. In addition, please remind your students to join the Google classroom for their grade. This gives them access to all the announcements and information needed for their grade level.
Mark your calendars and save the date! Scripps Ranch will once again host The College Showcase! On October 15th, from 6-8pm in the gym, SRHS will host an event featuring over 80 Universities! More information will be provided closer to the event.
The end of the first grading period is September 18th. If you have not yet accessed the PowerSchool parent portal, please see below for directions. Progress reports and semester reports cards will be sent out via digital document delivery. To be sure you receive these important documents, please take a moment to: 1. Verify that the digital document email address is up-to-date in PowerSchool, and 2. Ensure that you are opted into digital document delivery.

Please continue to encourage your students to check the Scripps Ranch ASB website and Instagram for updates on school events and spirit days. Modified Monday
As a reminder, every Monday is a Modified Monday, with school dismissal at 2:29pm. If students need to see their teachers during this time, they should follow up with their teacher in order to schedule a meeting.
SRHS School Committees Ballots
Over the week we had one nomination for both SSC and SGT, so that nomination will be on each ballot. The ballots below may look a little awkward because there is only one name—per the state we are still required to have a ballot, so please still vote in the nomination to make it official.
School Site Council (SSC): Only parents and guardians of students currently enrolled at Scripps Ranch High may vote.
School Site Governance Team (SGT): Only parents and guardians of students currently enrolled at Scripps Ranch High may vote in this election.
Voting will close at 11:59pm this Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Reporting Absences, Late Arrivals, Early Releases
When reporting a student absence, please use the SRHS Attendance Form (available on the Attendance Website) or email your student’s attendance clerk. These are the primary methods our attendance clerks use to process requests efficiently, issue blue slips, and update PowerSchool records in a timely manner. Phone calls and voicemails should be used only as a secondary option.
Homecoming Attendance Deadline
As an early reminder, the deadline to clear attendance for Homecoming eligibility is Friday, September 18. Parents/guardians and students are encouraged to review attendance in PowerSchool now and address any attendance questions, corrections, or recovery needs well before the deadline.
Families should continue to report new absences as usual. Students may also continue to use available attendance recovery opportunities. However, attendance verification or correction requests submitted after September 18 will not restore Homecoming eligibility.
Please take a few minutes over the next couple of weeks to review your student’s attendance so there is plenty of time to address any concerns before the deadline.
SR6 Saturday Sessions
SR6 (Core Academy) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. SR6 will be hosted by a certificated teacher(s) who will provide instruction and support. A schedule of semester one dates will be coming soon. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by Wednesday, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student. All students can view the content areas of the teacher(s) scheduled for each session via the weekly sign-up link which is posted on their Google Classroom. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWUs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events. Additional opportunities for attendance recovery can be found on the student's Google Classroom and in the student handbook.
2026–27 Annual Parent Forms & Portal Access
The forms listed below were previously provided on paper, but the district has since transitioned them to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Our goal is 100% completion of these essential documents.
Please log in to your Parent Portal account and submit all required forms by Friday, September 4, 2026.
- 2026–27 Family Resource Guide
- 2026–27 Housing Questionnaire
- 2026–27 Health Information Exchange Consent Form (required annually for emergency nurse care)
- 2026–27 Universal Form (pay close attention to Photo/Video permissions so your student can be included in the yearbook)
- LCFF Form - short, confidential form, and helps ensure our school receives the state funding and resources for which we are eligible
- Students benefit from services when qualified through LCFF process
- Some students get fee waivers/reductions for college applications and AP exams, and families may get lower-cost internet service
- SUN Bucks — (Summer–EBT) provides $40 per month per student for food for June, July, and August 2026 ($120 total). Cards are issued in the fall
- LCFF Form is used in lieu of lunch application

Student Parking - Reminder
The student parking lots are located inside the campus gates, and the gates will be closed during the school day. Student parking lots will be the South Parking Lot, the west side of the Bungalow Lot, and certain spots in the parking lot outside of the 700 building. See the Student Parking Lots for a visual.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder
At Scripps Ranch High School, traffic during student drop-off and pick-up can be challenging because our campus has only one way in and one way out. To help reduce traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents and guardians to drop off and pick up students at the designated locations along the east side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street.
