SRHS Weekly Updates as of 9-13-26
Posted on 09/13/2026

Dear Falcon Families,

It’s hard to believe it’s already the end of the first six week grading period. Now is a great time to review your student’s progress and have them reach out to their teachers if they have questions or need follow up help regarding assignments and assessments. Saturday School (SR6) started last week, and continues this coming week. Students have the opportunity to make up tardies, absences, and get some work done to get caught up or ahead. All information is posted on your students Google classroom page for their grade level. Please ask them to review it regularly for updates. To prepare for the end of the first grading period, please make sure you can access your student’s information through the Parent Portal. See information and reminders below, if you need to make updates.

Our Falcon athletes continue to impress as the fall athletics season progresses. Our Falcons in the arts are rehearsing and preparing for upcoming competitions and productions. Our AFJROTC cadets, along with all our many clubs and academic teams on campus, continue preparing to welcome existing and new members for another fun, productive year. For information about all of our fantastic programs, please follow these links: Falcon Athletics go HERE, Falcon Playhouse go HERE, Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and AFROTC program go HERE.

The Weekly College Series kicks off this week, thanks to the hard work of our Scripps Ranch Foundation. The series continues each week, Wednesdays at lunch, in the library. The event is open to all students; please encourage your students to stop in and gain powerful insight into a wide variety of college opportunities. For more details, see below. And don’t forget to save the date for our upcoming College Showcase, featuring over 80 Universities! This event will be held on Thursday, October 15th from 6-8pm in the SRHS Gym. See below for a link to the flyer.

This week’s updates include information about our SRHS SSC and SGT election results, Homecoming details, a Pledge Drive, the upcoming “What I Wish My Parents Knew” event, and more.

Homecoming Attendance Deadline — This Friday, September 18th

As a reminder, the deadline for parents to call in to clear attendance for Homecoming eligibility is Friday, September 18. Parents/guardians and students are encouraged to review attendance in PowerSchool now and address any attendance questions, corrections, or recovery needs. Families should continue to report new absences as usual. Students may also continue to use available attendance recovery opportunities. However, attendance verification or correction requests submitted after September 18 will not restore Homecoming eligibility.

End of Grading Period

Friday, September 18th, will mark the end of Progress Report 1 (P1) grading period. Teachers will post grades the following week to be available via PowerSchool on Friday, September 25th. These grades are a formative progress report and do not represent a final summative semester grade. The final summative grading period for semester one closes on December 18th.

Modified Monday

As a reminder, every Monday is a Modified Monday, with school dismissal at 2:29pm. This Monday, 9/14, teachers will attend an all staff Professional Development meeting from 2:45 to 3:45pm. If  students need to see their teachers, they should follow up and coordinate directly with them.

Phone calls and voicemails should be used only as a secondary option.
