Dear Falcon Families,
We made it through the heatwave! And this week, as we welcome the cooler weather, we move into the last week before the end of the first progress report grading period. To be sure your students are starting the semester strong, please encourage them to check their grades and follow up with their teachers. If your student is struggling, they can pursue peer tutoring on campus (available everyday afterschool in the library), take advantage of a teacher’s tutoring hours, or take advantage of a SR6 (Saturday School) if they also need to make up for a tardy or absence. There are a myriad of ways for students to get help, if needed, and all of the information is available on campus and in your student’s class level Google Classroom. Have them check to be sure they are signed up so they do not miss out on opportunities to succeed, or important information about events on campus.
The College Showcase is tomorrow night, Monday, September 16h, in the SRHS Gym! Over 80 colleges will be there. Please see below for details. Our Weekly College Series kicked off last week, thanks to the hard work of our Scripps Ranch Foundation. The series continues each week, Wednesdays at lunch, in the library. The event is open to all students; please encourage your students to stop in and gain powerful insight into a wide variety of college opportunities. For more details, see below.
This week’s updates include information about the Blocksi Parent Dashboard, the SRHS school committee ballot results, our LCFF parent notifications, as well as reminders about our upcoming College event (this week!) and the ongoing College series. Please see below for details. Homecoming will be here soon, on October 4th! Please remind your students to show their school spirit and check out all the fun events SRHS has to offer.
See below for the latest updates as of 9-15-24.

LCFF Parent Notification - Reminder
Every year we are required by the State of California to collect income data from our families. This data helps to determine our Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) funding from the state. Here are some important reasons we ask for this information:
-
Some students get fee waivers/reductions for college applications and AP exams, and families may get lower-cost internet service
-
SUN Bucks — (Summer–EBT) provides $40 per month per student for food for June, July, and August 2024 ($120 total). Cards will be issued in the fall.
It is critical that we collect this data from every family to ensure our school receives all the state funding to which it is entitled. Parents need to only fill out the LCFF via one of the options below:
-
Option 1: In the next several weeks, the district will roll out a Survey Monkey link to the LCFF form. The link will be provided via email from [email protected]t via SurveyMonkey.com
-
Option 2: Families will also have the option to complete this form in PowerSchool Parent Portal (Click here to sign into PowerSchool Parent Portal). Families who submitted the LCFF form this past spring will not receive the email.
The LCFF online form is available on the Parent Portal only, it is not on the student’s portal.
If you do not have access to the Parent Portal, please complete the: Scripps Ranch High School Parent Portal Access Request Form to receive an access ID and password for your student(s).
That’s all for today. Enjoy the remainder of your Sunday!
Sincerely,
Matt Lawson, Ed.D
Principal
