SRHS Weekly Updates as of 9-17-23
Posted on 09/18/2023

Dear Falcon Families,

This past week myself and our three associate principals met with all 12th and 11th graders to review expectations and important rules and procedures to have a successful 2023-24 school year. I’ll admit it’s not the most exciting presentation, but we have seen many benefits from doing these “Admin Policy Assembly” presentations in past years. We covered items like how to maintain your right to walk in the graduation ceremony, attend prom, parking lot procedures, earthquake and safety drill information, and much more. This coming Monday and Tuesday we will meet with all 10th graders and 9th graders respectively. We look forward to talking with them and answering whatever questions they may have so they are set up for a successful school year.

In today’s update, I’ve included information about the Area A Superintendent Meet & Greet this Thursday, Homecoming eligibility, our SSC and SGT parent reps, and more. See below for the latest updates as of 9-17-23.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Area A Superintendent Meet & Greet - From the Scripps Ranch Schools Committee - Reminder

Please join us as we warmly welcome our new Area A Superintendent Maria Gomez at the Scripps Ranch Cluster Meet and Greet on Thursday, September 21 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm at Marshall Middle School Theater.  Please see the attached flyer for details. The Meet and Greet is a special opportunity to learn about Ms. Gomez and to ask questions and receive information about our school district and our cluster. We are very excited that Ms. Gomez is coming to Scripps Ranch to meet with the school community.

Homecoming Tickets & Attendance

Students with A, Z, T, or Ws in their PowerSchool from 9/5 to current will be ineligible to purchase tickets for homecoming which go on sale next week. Students can recover their attendance (which will change the codes) by attending lunch detention on Tuesday and/or Fridays, or by attending SR6 which will be hosted from 8am-12pm on select Saturdays. The first session of SR6 will be 9/30, details will be posted on your student’s “Class of” Google Classroom.

LCFF Form – Survey Monkey

SDUSD has implemented an additional collection strategy by using Survey Monkey to offer parents another avenue to complete their LCFF surveys. When you receive the email from the district, please take advantage of the Survey Monkey option. The email should be received by the Guardian/Parent listed first in PowerSchool. You can also submit your response through your SDUSD Parent Portal (click here for the job aid to complete the form in parent portal). Families who complete the survey may be eligible to receive discounts for home internet and fee waivers for SAT and AP exams. For parents who do not have parent portal access, please email Jason Lyons at [email protected]. The survey Monkey link is unique for each student, please do not share the link with other families.

SSC and SGT Parent Representatives

There were just as many applicants as there were openings, so no ballot needed. Please help me welcome and thank our SSC and SGT parent representatives for the 2023-24 school year:
