SRHS Weekly Updates as of 11-5-23
Posted on 11/05/2023

Dear Falcon Families,

Congratulations to our SRHS Falcon Corps and Colorguard who have won both their tournaments so far placing first in 3A and winning percussion and colorguard.  Currently they are 3rd overall out of 20 bands in their division and look to qualify for another state finals the third week of November. In addition to the marching band, the SRHS chamber orchestra was a featured ensemble for the Great City Schools Conference which featured the top 40 largest school districts in the country.  They earned quite a bit of praise and played beautifully.

We have a number of upcoming playoff events taking place this week. Our Field Hockey team takes on Canyon Hills on Tuesday @ Canyon Hills at 5pm, Flag Football will play @ Hilltop on Tuesday at 6pm, Cross Country will compete on Saturday @ Morley Field with Boys at 10:40am and Girls at 12:15pm, and Football will play @ SRHS on Friday at 7pm. Great job Falcons continuing to represent our school with #FalconPride!

In today’s update I’ve included info about our upcoming What I Wish My Parents Knew Event, the Federal Impact Survey, a link to purchase tickets for the Falcon Playhouse’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” play, and more. See below for the latest updates as of 11-5-23.

Federal Aid Impact Survey - Reminder to complete by November 8th - Important

As of Friday, November 3rd only 400 families have submitted the survey. Please be sure to take this short survey as it provides financial support for our school district since we enroll federally-connected students. Blue paper surveys were sent home with your student this past Wednesday so either electronic or paper completion is fine.

  • To complete the paper survey, complete the blue survey sent home and have your child return the survey to our attendance clerk, Ms. Savage.

  • To complete the electronic survey:

  • Please sign-in to the Parent Portal in PowerSchool

  • Select Forms from the left-hand navigation menu, then select 2023-24 Impact Aid Program Survey Form.

  • Follow the prompts and submit the form. Please be sure a confirmation appears before logging off.

  • If you need assistance, or do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please contact our site tech, Jason Lyons at [email protected].

  • For parents using the PowerSchool mobile app, you can submit the survey using the app.

This survey provides financial support for our school district since we enroll federally-connected students. This includes children of active duty uniformed services personnel, children who live on federal property or in subsidized federal housing, and children whose parents are employed on eligible federal property. Impact Aid funds become part of the district's general operating budget and support instructional activities for all students | FLIER

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by the SRHS Falcon Playhouse

Scripps Ranch High School's Falcon Playhouse announced it will be premiering a post-apocalyptic staging of the famous work by William Shakespeare, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” from November 16th-18th, on The Falcon Playhouse stage. Set in a future where the remnants of humanity have embraced a simpler existence, the play unfolds amidst the ruins of a once bustling city. Against this backdrop, the enchanting forest comes alive with real fairies, weaving their magic into the lives of bewildered humans. The tangled web of love and mistaken identity takes on new dimensions as characters navigate both their emotions and the challenges of a world forever altered. Shakespeare's timeless tale merges with futuristic aesthetics, blending the mystical and the mechanical to create an unforgettable experience that bridges the past and the imagined future. Join the Falcon Playhouse on a journey through a society where human life is sparse, but humanity is still an essential virtue, to the last of the human race.

School Accountability Report Card (SARC)

Public schools throughout California are required to provide information about themselves to the community in the form of an annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC). These report cards provide a variety of data to allow the public to evaluate and compare schools in several important areas:

  • Demographic information

  • School safety and climate for learning

  • Academic data

  • Class size

  • Teacher and staff information

  • Professional development

  • Fiscal and expenditure data

The SARC, which follows the state's guidelines and document template, are issued each spring and focus on the previous academic year. A SARC is typically 12- 14 pages long. I have attached a link of our site’s SARC for the 2021-22 school year. Hard copies of our SARC are also available in the main office. The 2021-22 SARC is available at https://www.sarconline.org/ or you can also access our current SARC electronically at: https://sarconline.org/public/print/37683383730884/2021-2022
