SRHS Weekly Updates as of 4-14-24
Posted on 04/15/2024

Dear Falcon Families,

We hope everyone had a restful spring break and smooth transition back to school this past week. This is the last week of P4 grades. We have fewer than 40 days remaining for the 2023-24 school year, which will be filled with ASB events, state and AP testing, the close of Spring sports, as well as senior celebrations like the goodbye rally, prom, and graduation. We wish all of our students the best in their last six weeks of the school year and are looking forward to having a lot of fun. See below for the latest updates as of 4-14-24

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Temporary Administrative Transition

Due to his numerous years of experience as an Associate Principal, our central office has asked Rudy Parra to support at Hoover High School on a week-to-week basis until the end of the school year. While Mr. Parra is supporting at Hoover High, former Point Loma High School principal Mr. Kelly Lowry will cover for his responsibilities at Scripps. The administration will work together to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Before & After School Tutoring - On Hold

We are awaiting financial approval to continue before and after school tutoring with teachers. As soon as that opens up we’ll communicate to students via Google Classroom and to parents through my weekly message. Students are still welcome to attend after school peer tutoring in the library Monday-Friday.

The following section contains relevant reminders from previous weekly updates

CAASPP - State Testing for 11th Graders

Please review communication sent out by the district CAASPP Parent Letter at the beginning of this month. Our site will be administering the CAASPP for all 11th grade students Tuesday, April 23rd through Friday, April 26th. Please see the updated  Falcon Time Schedule for  information on the dates and block day bell schedule for all students. We will provide updated information on statewide testing as we approach our site’s testing window beginning Tuesday, April 23rd. If you have any site specific questions please email Associate Principal Amy Hines [email protected].

Senior Attendance Recovery Plans

Seniors with any truancy codes (AZTWs) are currently ineligible for prom and the graduation ceremony. Seniors needing to recover their attendance can do so via SR6 Saturday session, lunch detention, and peer tutoring after school in the library. See current  Academic Support & Attendance Recovery Opportunities.

Class of 2024 Graduation Website

We have updated our website, please check the school website at https://scrippsranch.sandiegounified.org/  and select the “Graduation 2024” tab. We still have a few TDB dates and will update these as soon as we can.

That’s all for today. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D

Principal
