SRHS Weekly Updates as of 12-17-23
Posted on 12/15/2023

Dear Falcon Families,

Congratulations to two of our flag football players, Chloe Ng and Arianna Harris. Chloe led all of San Diego in flags and was an all-CIF second team defensive selection, and Arianna was named as all-CIF second team offensive selection. It was a great year for our flag football team’s inaugural season. Also, congratulations to our CA-935 cadets who had a successful first drill competition of the season. The cadets took home NINE trophies and finished top 3 in all categories.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season with your friends and families. I can’t thank you all enough for your support throughout this school year. I will be off the next two weeks so this message will cover the week of January 3rd. See below for the latest updates as of 12-17-23.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Lets Be A Good Neighbor

Families, we are getting concerns from our business neighbors around SRHS. The different businesses that surround our school have asked that our parents respect the driving/traffic laws and not double park and block the road/exits to their business as you wait for your student after school. Also, they ask that you please do not park in their lots to wait for your student. These are private parking lots, and even though there might be spaces available, some businesses are waiting for clients and/or employees who need to park in those spaces. Thank you for being respectful of our neighbors.

SR6 (Saturday Support) - Next Session 1/6
SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours. SR6 will be hosted by a certificated teacher(s) who will provide instruction and support. You can view the calendar of all SR6 dates here.  SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events such as winter formal on Jan 20th. Three sessions are available prior to formal. Sign up for the 1/6 session here.

Reminder of Attendance Policy & Impacts on Eligibility

To support student success in the classroom and to remain eligible for school events including homecoming events, dances, prom, ASB events, and senior graduation ceremony, students must: 1) be present in all of their classes for the duration of the period  2) have a valid pass when out of class 3) maintain a 2.0 citizenship score and 4) exemplify the pillars of Falcon PRIDE. Students with any A, Z, T, or W codes in PowerSchool can recover their attendance by attending SR6 or lunch detention which is hosted on Tuesdays and Fridays in room 703. See the SRHS Student Handbook for more information.
